User Permissions & Management

User Permissions & Management

Introduction

The TOD Markets platform uses a permission-based authorisation system, allowing for specific actions to be authorised at the individual user level. Careful security and user experience considerations have been given to which permissions are set as default and which can be self-managed.

Account administrators and traders are established upon registration and updated from time to time through administrator written communications or trading mandates.

Account Authority

Separate from user permissions; individuals in your organisation can be designated ‘Account Authority’ to request changes to your account, its users and their permissions without needing a user account of their own. For example; a General Manager may not want to access the platform day-to-day but may still need the authority to request changes when required.

We keep a list of Account Authorities on your company record so we know who can make valid requests for changes.

How to manage your users

Find ‘Company Profile’ in the top-right user menu.

Note: If you cannot see ‘Company Profile’ it means your account lacks permission to manage users.

This will show a list of all users and a summary of their top-level permissions with ticks or crosses.

Clicking ‘Edit’ on any user record will show the ‘Edit User Profile’ view.

User Permissions

Active (Is Active / Can Login)

This is the top-level permission that determines if a user can access (log in to) the system. If this toggle is off, the user cannot access the system or API at all, overriding all other permissions granted to that account.

Trader (Can submit and update orders)

If active, the user can create, update & cancel orders on the platform and via the API. If this permission is disabled, the user will be unable to perform those actions via the platform or API, but will still be able to view the information on the platform and API.

This permission is also required to submit or update orders via voice broker.

Can Manage Counterparties

This allows the user to be able to connect, disconnect & update the tenor of counterparties on the platform. If this permission is turned off, the user is unable to make any changes to counterparty relationships at all.

Can Manage Users (Admin)

Note: Only System Administrators can promote users to Company Admins

If Active, the user can manage other users within their organisation, including updating their personal details and their personal details. An admin can manage the permissions of other users within their team.

An admin can also create new users for their company.

F.A.Q.

Can TOD Markets manage our users for us?

Yes! If you prefer that changes to your company users and permissions are handled by TOD Markets Account managers, we can handle that. In that case, we require at least 1 ‘Account Authority’ to be named on your account and none of your users will be permitted to manage other users.

Can I delete a user who has left our business?

Individual user accounts are linked to their activity on the TOD Markets platform, which is essential for record keeping. This means user accounts can never be deleted from the database; instead, they can only be deactivated, rendering their account unusable. Simply switch off the ‘Is Active’ permission on the user profile or contact account management or support and we can do this for you.

Can I request specific permission combinations for our users?

Yes, permissions are mutually exclusive. All permissions are fully optional, so please let us know your requirements and we will set your users up how you need them.

I want to restrict something else, can I request other permissions?

Yes, we will consider your requirements and find a way to accommodate if it is technically feasible. The best place to start is by chatting with support or your account manager.
